Spread ‘Em: Anguilla’s Magazine-Worthy Villas
Maybe it’s the architecture, maybe it’s the scenery, but for some reason our Anguilla villas end up in magazines more than the average home. One’s even just landed front and centre in Robb Report. Read on for more about what makes these star villas special…
Beaches, sugary-white designs and photozoom lenses are the norm on Anguilla
Bird of Paradise isn’t like most other homes in Anguilla. In muted colors rather than the snow-white that’s common here and old world instead of contemporary, this ambient home is uniquely suited to star within the pages of a magazine. And it did recently, in a Robb Report feature devoted specifically to its expert design.
The owners of Bird of Paradise decorated their perfect vacation villa with art collected during their world travels and used natural materials to complement the laid-back, relaxed environment. A lagoon-style pool meanders through the courtyard and by the master suite and the entire villa was designed to maximize the cooling trade winds. Best of all – it was built just a short stroll to a wedge of crescent beach.
Bird of Paradise isn’t the only villa in Anguilla that’s graced magazine pages:
- Altamer Resort (below left and right), with its three beachfront villas named for precious jewels, is a darling of the media, having been featured in Architectural Digest and Fortune Magazine, among others.
- Cerulean (below left and right) regularly shelters celebrities, but it wasn’t camera-shy when the photogs from Travel and Leisure and Vogue came calling.
